Emergency Management and Response
AlphaTRAC provides comprehensive support for hazardous materials emergency management and response. We bring our experience to bear in planning for events
involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive materials for clients that manage these hazards.
Hazards Surveys and Hazards Assessments • • •
Hazards surveys and hazards assessments provide the basis for onsite and offsite emergency planning, the design of Emergency Planning Zones, and development of
emergency response tools and work aids. AlphaTRAC is nationally recognized as a leader in hazards surveys and hazards assessments.
Rapid-response Atmospheric Modeling • • •
Atmospheric dispersion modeling is essential to predicting the path and danger from an atmospheric plume of hazardous materials.
Working in partnership with federal and state agencies and private industry, AlphaTRAC builds and implements plume prediction systems to meet the needs of emergency
managers and front-line responders. Called the Computer-Assisted Protective Action Recommendation System (CAPARS), the system provides plume, weather, hazard, and
related information with the accuracy and speed needed to support all levels of emergency management and response ... even the urgent demands of first responders.
AlphaTRAC also upgrades and modifies client-owned or public-domain modeling systems for rapid-response emergency applications.
Emergency Plans and Procedures • • •
AlphaTRAC develops and implements comprehensive, integrated plans and procedures that enable emergency response organizations to regain control over
operations, processes, and materials and to protect people, assets, and property in accordance with the National Incident Management System.
Emergency Response Training and Drills • • •
Effective emergency response depends on quick reactions and a clear understanding of responsibilities.
AlphaTRAC assists emergency responders—from full-time professional teams to workers and the public—prepare for effective action under pressure using
lecture, on-the-job, and game-theory-based training.
Drills and exercises are key to maintaining readiness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
AlphaTRAC designs and implements drills and full scale exercises that can help clients maintain the level of readiness required for emergency response.
DOE 151.1C Compliance • • •
The Department of Energy promulgated new and revised requirements for emergency management in 2005. Every DOE site, facility, and operation must comply with
the new requirements embodied in DOE Order 151.1C. As one of the first organizations to fully implement the new requirements, AlphaTRAC
brings its unique experience to bear in the practical application of the new order for DOE sites and operations across the nation.
HS-63 Inspection Support • • •
DOE’s Office of Independent Oversight and Performance Assurance audits emergency management programs at DOE sites and national programs. AlphaTRAC specializes in helping sites and
programs conduct self-assessments, prepare for inspections, support SP-43 teams onsite, and respond to inspection results.
We have a proven track record of helping programs move rapidly from “red” or “yellow” ratings to fully proficient status.
