Canada's Public Safety Minister, Vic Toews and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, met to advance a strategic dialogue on developing a shared vision for border security for Canada and the United States - one that will enhance security and resilience against common threats, while bolstering competitiveness and job creation.

Secretary Napolitano will travel to Laredo, Texas, where she will announce fiscal year 2010 Operation Stonegarden grants - intended to support state and local law enforcement along the border - at Texas A&M International University at Laredo.
